Our charter schools receive less capital funding than their neighboring Public Schools. Just to give you some statistical information, over the last 10 years, the capital outlay funding to our system has decreased by 53%. If we were to be funded at the same level as in 2001, our system would be allocated an additional $4,279,346.
Working Together to Meet our Goals
It is vital that we as a charter school community continue to contribute to the financial success of our charter school system. You can help support our charter schools by gifting to the Pembroke Pines Charter School Foundation (PPCSF). PPCSF is a 501c3 non-profit organization that provides financial support to our charter school system. All funds donated to the Foundation are used to help cover capital improvements and infrastructure costs as well as award scholarships to our charter graduates and teachers for advanced degrees. We kindly request that each household do their part and make a recommended tax-deductible donation of $250 to the Foundation in an effort to raise the charter school reserves to sustainable levels.

Matching gift programs are offered by companies across the world. In fact, about 65% of Fortune 500 companies (and many others) match employee donations. Last year, $4,300 were raised for the Foundation from matching gifts! We encourage our PPCS parents to inquire with their employers on whether they can match your Parent SOS PPCS Donation. All of your employer matching gift donations will be credited toward your child’s SOS PPCS pledge amount. The SOS committee recognizes the financial burden that donation pledges place on some of our families. In lieu of the traditional pledge payments such as cash and credit, parents have the option to reach out to our business community and seek sponsorships in which businesses can purchase banner (3’x5’) advertising space to be placed at a preferred school location for $400 and receive recognition as a corporate partner on the PPCS Foundation website (www.ppcsf.org).
